Welcome to Summer Slash 2015! Continuing the fine tradition of F1 fic challenges to keep us occupied over the long, barren period of the summer break.
This year the challenge is based around song lyrics– submit your own choices, receive some in return and get inspired!
Sign-ups end after the Hungarian GP (23.59, Sunday 26th July) and works should be submitted by the end of the Belgian GP weekend (23.59, Sunday 23rd August). Posting/revealing will take place between the 24th August – 6th September.
RULES
1. Submit at least 3 sets of song lyrics.
2. The lyrics we receive will be distributed amongst all participants – you should expect to receive 3 sets in return!
3. Write! 😀 You can write as many fics as you like – if you feel inspired to write three separate fics for the three sets of lyrics, go right ahead! Or if you want to write just one, that’s fine too. Don’t feel like you have to take the lyrics literally – you can go with the mood or the feeling of the song(s), or use it as a jumping-off point.
3b. If you prefer to create a piece of visual art – eg a drawing, digital art, manip, photoset – feel free to pursue that path instead of (or as well as!) writing a fic!
4. If you really don’t feel inspired by the lyrics we send you, don’t worry – just send us a message as soon as you can, and we’ll send you some fresh ones!
5. Fics should be a minimum of 1000 words (though we won’t be too strict if you send us 950 ;).
6. As if this needed saying – fics should be of a slash nature!
7. Post your fic to the collection! Fics will remain “unrevealed” until the challenge is complete, but feel free to post whenever you’re ready! (If you don’t have an AO3 account, you can email us your work and we’ll post it on your behalf. 🙂The challenge is being hosted at AO3, you will receive more details about how to post after you have signed up!
