I’ve never really understood why people leave a fandom because some people are dicks. Maybe I’m just stubborn but I like to stick around just to spite people! I’m not going to let some twat drive me away from something I love. And besides, the only way to avoid twats and morons is to live far, far from civilisation and never come into contact with another human being, either face to face or virtually. Which is not without its appeal, but there is NO way of avoiding dickheads in fandom or in life so you might as well just ignore them. Or embrace fighting them 🙂
