When I was in my early-mid 20s I def felt this, but after I hit 30 it very suddenly went away, even as I failed my PhD etc. I just suddenly found it very easy to believe that actually, nothing really matters nearly as much as we think it does. “Success” is pretty meaningless, especially if it’s in something we don’t actually want. Disentangling happiness from success is very difficult, but very useful if we can achieve it.
