So……..
• Alexander Rossi wins the Indy 500 as a rookie.

• Nico Hulkenberg won the Le Mans 24 hrs as a rookie.

I’m not sure what this says about F1 tbh?

Probably that a lot of very talented drivers are under valued and not given the right opportunities in the F1 world.

It says that F1 is highly overrated.

Or that F1 really does collect the best of the best.

Collects the best of the best and then drops them because they don’t bring in enough money for the team they were driving for.

There’s not enough top seats to accommodate all the drivers who deserve them. In the top 3 teams, does anyone not deserve their seat? I’d say not. So where are drivers like Hulk/Perez/Bottas/Rossi/etc meant to go? You can’t really say they’re being done an injustice, just because they’re not in a top team.

Soooo as with everything in F1, the issue is the lack of competitive teams, which is a consequence of unfair wealth distribution. It’s a drum I’ll keep banging forever and idgaf, but I HATE the way money is distributed in F1 and I think it’d be a much healthier sport if the “Bernie money” was shared equally amongst the teams. Then everyone would have better chances!
