when will the media stop pretending that every single girl has dreamt of her wedding since she was a little girl
I never imagined a wedding as a child and I felt like there was something wrong with me every time they would say something to the effect of “every girl has a dream wedding when she’s a kid!!” because I sincerely did not care
I have a feeling that this is one of those American phenomenons because I don’t know anyone here in Iceland who had dreams about their wedding day in childhood. We also generally don’t make a big deal about weddings. Most of the time people have been together for years, lived together for years, even had 2-3 kids before they start talking about getting married. 😛
I have a vivid memory from when I was about 7 of telling my parents I didn’t want to get married, because I didn’t want to have children – hadn’t even reached the age of knowing where babies came from, but I already knew I didn’t want them lol. Not much has changed >.>
