How many times has Rob said his career moves were “entirely unrelated” to Felipe’s now? Moving to Ferrari, moving from Ferrari to Williams, then scaling back his track work at Williams when Felipe retires – come on now, I’m not much for soulmate AUs but there’s fodder there surely? Something got intertwined somewhere.
Honestly, I don’t think Rob cares about F1 much anymore, aside from the fact it pays the bills. He’s made so many comments about lack of friendship, the Paddock etc recently, not to mention that a smart guy like him can probably clearly see that the whole sport is going down the shiter. I would not be entirely surprised to see him ~elsewhere~ at some point in the future.

Good point. FE is drawing a lot of manufacturers and talent, and I’m REALLY hoping that’s where Felipe ends up – it’d give him a nice few months’ break and be pretty low-commitment timewise – so I’m just going to be over here imagining a nice little electric reunion.
