Just saw Ted’s Notebook. Ted and Craig’s comments regarding Carmen Jorda’s comments are not acceptable. “Carmen is being unfairly treated.” And “People don’t take her seriously and what she says seriously because she looks like a glamour model.”

Umm. No. I think Danica Patrick, Susie Wolff, Katherine Legge, any woman could look like a glamour model but i take them seriously. I do not take seriously what Carmen Jorda says because she has no results to prove her credibility to be in F1. She doesn’t seem to work out as hard in the gym as the likes of other female drivers and she hasn’t raced competitively since 2016. Her records speak for themselves.

For Ted and Craig to say that, the day Tatiana Calderon is announced as Test driver is disappointing. Surely they realise the difference between Carmen and Tatiana’s career.

Sorry for the rant but to say Carmen isn’t taken seriously for her looks is utter rubbish. There are reasons why people do not like what she says, not solely her looks. In today’s society a comment like that is not acceptable.

Much as I don’t always agree with Ted or Slater, I think this is a bit of a mischaracterisation of what they were saying – they specifically said her appointment to her position was somewhat baffling given that she has no credentials, and it’s likely to be at least in part due to her looks, rather than any qualifications she has. I don’t think they were saying “It’s unfair that she doesn’t get taken seriously because she’s good looking” – I think it was more like, she was only appointed because she’ll look good in publicity photos. Which I think is a fair point. Looks, money, and a complete willingness to back the status quo – that’s why she’s there. Though to be honest, I think that, by some irony, she’s actually doing some good with her dumb opinions, because it gives people the opportunity to voice their own in opposition to her, and some very high profile people have done so, which they might not otherwise have done so vocally. So joke’s on the FIA I guess lol
