that whole “it doesn’t matter what others think of you only what you think of you matters” is not true at all? every human being needs love and acceptance from someone. inferiority complex is a real thing. depression and suicide are real. so many people walk around emotionally dead on the inside but they project this fake, oh I don’t need anyone in the world to support me emotionally, “confidence.” loneliness is a thing that exists. literally everyone needs the support of some type of community that’s why humans live in groups

not to mention a lot of people with superiority complexes have low self esteem

it’s so strange stumbling upon old livejournal communities of once-popular fandoms, that have long since been abandoned…it’s like coming upon a fandom graveyard – or more accurately, stumbling upon fandom Pompeii – these were the people who once lived in this town, these were the old well-known usernames, these are their stories – frozen in time, last updated 2008, chapter 12/? 

When I get into a new fandom – or more specifically, a new old fandom – my first port of call for fic is still LJ, so this tragedy still happens to me on a semi-regular basis :S
