On the other hand, maybe girls who say that have been victimised all their lives by other females for being “weird” or different and so they know they don’t fit in, and also don’t want to be associated with that behaviour?

I feel like people getting shocked over deaths of celebs who’ve been famous since the 60s don’t really grasp the concept of the passage of time. If a bunch of 30 year olds were dying it’d be shocking, but 70+? Ofc it’s very sad, but i don’t think shocking is the right word. Especially if they’re rock stars, it’s more shocking they’ve lasted this long!
