So here’s the story of how I Met Carl And Didn’t Die! The tale begins with me finding a copy of Scott and Charlene’s wedding song on a 7" single in a charity shop, and, knowing Carl is a Neighbours enthusiast, I’ve taken that record with me to several shows in the hope of giving it to him, lol. Finally last night after much agonising, @missoneminute gave me the necessary support and encouragement to approach him and give him this damn record, and he gave me a lovely hug and a kiss and seemed extremely grateful, and proceeded to talk at us about Neighbours for at least ten minutes. I didn’t know what he was talking about most of the time lol but it’s obvious he loves talking about it and it was very entertaining to experience, haha. At one point he shoved his drink into @missoneminute’s hand and started doing a vigorous hand jive and i can’t even remember why he started doing that but it was amazing. He was pretty smashed and his voice was all hoarse after the show and it sounded lovely haha. He sang several snatches of the song with great relish! Right at the start i was explaining about the record being a very late birthday present and made sure i mentioned it had been my birthday the other day, lol, so he wished me happy birthday and tried to work out what my starsign is and it took him five goes, haha (for the record, his first guess was Pisces).
After he was done talking about Neighbours @missoneminute asked him about China, and after some stuff about Weibo points (“mine are in deficit”) and face recognition he said he was thinking of having a “belly reduction” (while patting it) and, after a brief pause, said he was thinking of having it put in his arse instead I AM NOT EXAGGERATING THAT IS LEGITIMATELY WHAT HE SAID and how do you possibly respond to that without seeming like a massive creep?? I mean I can’t really recall anything more outstanding than that moment lol but he seemed pleased with the record and kept showing it to people which ofc made me very happy, and he was so easygoing and accommodating and happy to talk to people and so very beautiful. And not even that short! Haha.
