my friend just shows me a description of a GoT Jon/Sansa fic set in an AU where they’re single parents who meet because their daughters are on the same youth soccer team
like, kill me
how do people manage to take interesting universes, make them so fucking BLAND, and then get 300 kudos
it makes me miss the days when fic was just loved for having a popular pairing and smut
I have a theory.
When you and I were young and the big fandoms were all set in more or less the real world, sci-fi/fantasy/superheroes AUs were a different world to the one the characters were in.
Nowadays, a lot of the big fandoms are sci-fi/fantasy/superhero worlds so the different world is the one closer to reality.
Single parents AU is one of my faves, and my fandom is a completely normal-people one lol. I love that domestic slice of life stuff, give me all the coffee shops, universities, bartenders, neighbours, married-for-10-years fics you got. I’ll lap ‘em up, as long as my faves are in luv.
