So having checked Carl’s book, it turns out I didn’t quite make it to Delaney Mansions after all. But this is 236 Camden Road, where Peter and Carl moved after they left Delaney Mansions. They occupied the basement here, too, though according to Carl, this property was rather more salubrious than their previous home (which, incidentally, can be found further up Camden Road, at number 360. But that’s another adventure, for another time…).
The lights were bright on Portland Street… until they turned them off just as I was about to take the photo. But the pub they’re attached to is called The Cock, so there’s that.
