“It was Pete Doherty’s visit that’s stuck in my memory though. He was wearing a trilby hat and a long mac – and he’s surprisingly tall! – and came up to the counter and he bought a Dad’s Army VHS box set.
This is when Babyshambles were quite big, so it would have been about 2007 or 2008. Too late to be buying VHS anyway! I just remember him pulling out a crumpled wad of £50 notes and spending a few hundred pounds on various things.”
