Top 5 places you visited!

Oo another good one! 😀 But tough, haha!

1. Koya-san, near Osaka, is somewhere very special. It’s a mountain full of monasteries and temples, where you can stay, and is an ancient Buddhist heritage site with a vast cemetery. It’s incredibly peaceful and atmospheric, and staying at a temple and joining the services was an incredible experience. I’d love to go back.
2. Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. A traditional Native American pueblo, it’s now not really permanently inhabited, but is open to tourists who want to see the traditional village and buy crafts. As a linguist I was fascinated and delighted to hear people speaking Tiwa language amongst themselves, and the village itself is very interesting, with its mixed traditional and Catholic culture.
3. Hiroshima. Unmissable. A powerful, powerful place.

4. The Grand Canyon. You really don’t appreciate the scale until you’re there, it’s just incredible. Walking down to the bottom is just so unexpectedly peaceful.
5. I wanted to go for some variation for my last one, pick somewhere in Europe or a hidden gem in the UK, but when it comes right down to it, I couldn’t miss Osaka off this list. I’ve never warmed to Tokyo, but I just love walking round the arcades in Umeda and the boutiques in Amemura, doujinshi shopping in Den Den Town, and going to Spa World in the much less salubrious Shin-Imamiya, lol. It might be because I’m from the north of England, or just because I’m a Kanjani fan haha, but Osaka resonates with me and I just love the atmosphere there.

Thanks for asking! Sorry my list only covered two countries, lol. Honourable mentions to Malta and Gozo, Bergamo (as mentioned earlier) and the Black Isle!

10, 27, 34 for the writers meme please <3

10: What’s your biggest writer pet-peeve?

I’m not really sure what this question is getting at – my pet peeve about my own writing, the act or art of writing in general, what I hate to see in others’ writing? I’m assuming it means the second one, but even then idrk how to answer lol. I’ve said before that the thing I find most of a chore in writing is having to link scenes together, and that still very much holds true, so I hope that counts as an answer! ^^’

27: Which is your favorite genre to write?

It’ll come as no surprise that I love writing romantic fluff, haha. Same two idiots falling in love over and over, in as many different ways I can think of, with only minor obstacles in their way. ;3

34: Describe your writing space.

Lol, I write wherever I want! On trains, in cafes, at work, in bed, in the bathroom… I mean I also procrastinate in many of these spaces too. But occasionally I commit some words to document!

Thanks!

H, K & P for the fanfic as games!

H: How would you describe your style?

Hmm… simple, I guess? I try and keep my sentences straightforward and I try even harder to avoid cliches and unnecessary idioms. I always want to approach things in a fresh way which is as realistic as possible.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

I’m not known for my angsty tendencies, but two ideas stand out. I once had the thought of writing a fic where Francois survived his accident but he had a spinal injury and lost the use of his legs. Loads of potential, but I really didn’t want to do all the research into medicine in the 1970s >.> I also started writing a fic where Felipe woke up after his accident with amnesia and couldn’t remember Rob or Raffa or anything from his recent life. Again, I really like the dilemmas thrown up by that idea, but it was hard to stop it being melodramatic and make it realistic!

Already did P! Thank you! 🙂
