Caller: Hi, I wanted to ask you about rapper Vanilla Ice borrowing your music from “Under Pressure” and did you get any compensation for it.
BRIAN: Did you say “borrowing?” You mean he’s going to give it back?
ROGER: He can keep it. The first thing is we were surprised and shocked. And then we were quite flattered in a way that he made a whole song out of one riff from one of our songs.
DJ: Did he have to ask for permission?
BRIAN: He should have done, but he didn’t, and for this reason [our record company] are suing his white ass off, if I may be so bold.
