See how you feel tomorrow! I’m a huge advocate for staying home, but it’s awful when someone’s relying on you to do something! D:

Yeah, if I knew a specific time when they’d be coming it’d be OK cos I could just go at that time. But all I know is “afternoon” which isn’t very helpful! I mean it def wouldn’t be the end of the world if I’m not there lol but it’d possibly inconvenience some people. It doesn’t seem that important to me but who knows how other people feel >.>

Top five fic tropes!

Like a nerd I decided to actually think really carefully about this lol and not just go for my usual cliche answers. Well… I tried, lol.

1. Reincarnation. This is basically just an excuse for a bunch of historical AUs without much by way of start or finish, lol, but I love the idea of finding each other in every possible life. It all started with Saiyuki, really, where it’s canon and people really took it and ran with it. Some of the best fics I’ve ever read were masterpieces of this genre!

2. Hurt/comfort. I don’t like internal conflict between my OTP, but I like them to be facing something Bad and helping each other through it, whether the Bad thing is only happening to one of them, or happening to both of them (cf, Felipe and Rob both leaving Ferrari, but under different circumstances). The comfort part can be sexual or non-sexual, but preferably both ;3b

3. Domesticity. Like… this one is a bit hard to explain because I’m quite picky about it, haha, but I quite like ~normalness. Not twee or lovey-dovey, but doing normal couple things together in a realistic way. Sounds kind of boring when I put it like that lol but lbr I’m a pretty boring person, so I guess that’s the appeal. ;3

4. Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey fic. I love fics (and books, films and other media) that play around with time, alternate timelines and Trousers of Time moments. Things that should’ve happened but didn’t, other timelines that exist elsewhere and people randomly end up in them with all the wrong memories – I can’t get enough of that stuff. That’s why Soul Music is one of my favourite Pratchett books, and why Time Keeps On Slippin’ is one of my fave Futurama episodes. ALSO has massive potential in the F1 world. I love what-if scenarios, and combining them with mixed up memories and stuff is A+ for me.

5. Friends to lovers. Or, as we used to say in the days before the word “bromance” was invented, ~passionate male friendship~. Bffs who’d do anything for each other – maybe even die for each other, depending on context – and who would never be as close with anyone else. Basically being completely dedicated to each other and together 4eva. Doesn’t by necessity have to be a sexual relationship, but fic is of course greatly improved if it is, haha. Even if not, it’s the deepest of loves. Ugh, it’s sickening but it’s true, haha.

Thank you for asking! 😀

Fanfic asks: 12, 13, 32!

12. What turns you away the most from a fic?

Noncon. Or mental health issues. I read a fic recently that made me deeply uncomfortable for the latter reason. :/

13. Has a fic ever made you cry?

Yes and it was a Yasuba fic by te_chan01 on LJ but I can’t remember why it was so sad! Her dialogue was just so amazingly moving though. Beautiful work!

32. Favorite AU tropes?

Ohoho. As previously mentioned, I love AUs – I feel like after a while, especially with RPS, my ideas dry up, but AUs are a constant mine of new madness. I enjoy the mundane, like uni AUs etc, through the oddly specific, such as single-dads-meeting-outside-school, through to the post-apocalyptic (hey tenacious-sd guess what I started working on again?). AUs are a rich playground!
