helloooooo cricket fam
so this is based off the fact that every. single. time. I put on the radio to listen to the Warks/Yorks match they go straight off for the weather (more to do with THE WEATHER than me putting the radio on but hey), that in the end I just decided not to bother listening and check the text updates instead
also a tradition in my house that every time someone leaves the room, a wicket falls, and that Ben Stokes fails every time my mum watches him
so, yeah, are there any little superstitions/little traditions that you have when you watch cricket (or any sport), those things that have no bearing whatsoever on what happens, but you do them anyway?
I always joke about leaving the room/going to the toilet/switching off the TV when something happens but if it’s something I want to keep happening, I will definitely keep doing it >.>
Also if I’m watching live, even on TV, and I need to go to the loo, I have definitely held it in case me leaving the room means a goal scored against my team/a wicket falling. This is dumb. And yet.
When we were about to win the Ashes in 2005 i left the room and when i came back the door had been locked so i wasn’t allowed back in to jinx the finish ;(
Worked though dinnit >.>
