Yasuba had good chemistry before Subaru got all weird like he does, lol, and they’ve never really got it back But, as I may have touched on already lol, I love the very real chemistry Rolipe have, the way they’re so matey, but also have genuine affection for each other, enjoy each other’s company so much they spend time together even outside of work time, the way Rob bigs Felipe up to the media AT EVERY AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY because he really believes in him and wants him to get the recognition he deserves. There’s no-one who Felipe’s not related to who’s a bigger fan of him than Rob is, and I can never get enough of that, it heals my very soul~

I’m currently 18k into a sequel to Earthly Delights set several years after the original fic, where they meet up in London. ;3 It’s a lot less filthy than the original as well, for better or worse lol.

Probably mermaids I guess, haha, though I never actually wrote the Rolipe mermaid fic which is a source of regret for me ;( There’s still time~~

Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

I guess mpreg is something a lot of people recoil from, but I’m all for it. Even though I kind of hate everything to do with pregnancy and babies IRL, lol. BUT when it’s fic it’s all fine!

5. since how long do you write?

I started writing fanfic properly in 2001, though I think I’d probably had some false starts towards the end of 2000. But I always wanted to be a writer from when I was a very small child. I used to start loads of stories and never finish them – all adventure stuff inspired by things like Narnia and Alice in Wonderland and Redwall. So I guess even if that wasn’t fic, it was “inspired by” other works, even if I didn’t know of fic as a concept until I was much older.

Hmm idk! Looking back to Kanjani8 fandom, maybe Maru – he’s so bizarre and mysterious but also funny, it was really hard to think of what he’d do or say cos it’s likely to be extremely random lol.

ALL OF THEM though apparently uni AUs, cos they’re usually the first thing that springs to mind if I need a prompt for an exchange or something, lol. It’s a rich seam >.>

In terms of F1, I always say Earthly Delights is my fave, and it still is, though I’m proud of Test Match as well. Idk what my favourite piece I’ve written ever is – I keep thinking about a short Prince of Tennis D1 fic I wrote many years ago that I could possibly turn into an original piece, but I’ve not read it back in a long time so it might be crap after all this time, haha. 

36. one-shot or multi-chaptered story?

One shots are much easier for me, even if they turn out to be 20k words lol. I find multi-chapter fics very hard – I only just got back off a year-long break with the one that looks likely to be the first one I’ll ever finish lol.

do you reread your own stories?

All the time – the ones that get a lot of kudos anyway, haha. For a start I like to check to see what I’ve written before so I can try and minimise repetition, but I also like to see what worked and what didn’t and hopefully reassure myself it didn’t entirely suck, haha. Though sometimes it backfires and you’re like Wow I could never write anything this good again! OR, Why did I think this was a good idea…?

a) Love in a time of zombies
b) What’s the protocol when one falls in love with a sex worker?

In that case, I have some good news! I have almost 10000 words of that fic, and I’ve made more notes for it than I have any other fic, including the road trip one lol. So it’ll get finished, once the road trip is out of the way – probably when the season is over and I’ll be bringing out all the AUs to keep me going lol ;(

5. Which fandoms have your written fanfiction for?

Oh man. That question is harder than it seems – I’ve been writing fic for 15 years! Gundam Wing was my first real journey into fic-writing, so far as I recall. Besides the obvious F1, other big fandoms were Prince of Tennis, Saiyuki and then, of course, Kanjani8, and I also remember writing quite a lot of drabbles for a manga series called Eerie Queerie. I’ve been in plenty of fandoms but I don’t actually remember which I’ve written fic for? My LJ fic tag, and long-forgotten ff.net account, tell me I also wrote for Eyeshield 21, Jeds, Kyou Kara Maou (how good was that anime tho???) and Berserk, and there might well be more too.

Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?

I check the Always Sunny tag on AO3 occasionally but for the past couple of seasons it’s ALL MacDennis and Charlie/Dee and I’m like, fuck that right off >( I also read cricket fic sometimes, but there’s SO many cricketers and possible pairings I’ve never quite settled!

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

I feel like most of my ships in F1 are pretty mainstream? Or at least obvious choices, lol. But I might be forgetting something…

Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?

Simi I guess, which I’ll read even though I don’t really like Kimi and Seb is top 5 at best. But it’s just such an obvious ship, I’ll give it a read if it’s going!

What’s your most popular fanfic?

In terms of kudos, Across the Universe and Good to be on the Road Back Home Again are tied for the lead, I guess cos they’re multi-parters, with Earthly Delights a close second.

What inspires you to write?

I dunno really! Just my faves doing cute stuff, haha.

Do you write drabbles? If so, what do you normally write them about?

I have done in the past – strict 100 word ones too, and I enjoyed that challenge! But I’m trying to get back into short fic writing, without letting stuff get out of hand and making more of it than the idea deserves.

What do you struggle the most with in your writing?

As I just mentioned, stuff often gets out of hand and I run out of steam and give up. That’s often because I feel I’ve got to fill in every little detail, when I really don’t need to. I need to remember that less is sometimes more! But that’s a skill I lack :/a

If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?

Earthly Delights. The filth I’m proudest of :3b Or Test Match, I feel like that has some of my better lines in it too.

Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

Basically I love that fanfiction exists – I grew up not knowing this and when I discovered it it was a magical experience, finding that there were other people like me out there in the world! I love that I’ve read fics that are way better than any published work I’ve ever read. From a writing point of view, I love that you don’t have to arse about building characters cos everyone already knows who you’re talking about, haha. 

And a hate to balance it out: I loathe poor characterisation. I can deal with imperfect English, as long as the story is good, but it could be the best prose ever and if the characters start crying all the fucking time, I’m out. >.>

Oh man this question is always awful because I hate forgetting people! But I’d say my faves in F1 fandom are gimmefirefic​ and alwaysastorm.

There’s loads of cliches I love. Hurt/comfort, domestic fic, pretty much any kind of normal-people-meeting-randomly AU you could imagine… Oh and reincarnation, which I’d forgotten about until recently. But I love it ;-;b

Do you mind when characters cry?

Oddly enough, considering how much I love to see boys crying IRL, in fics I can usually do without it, because certain characters are always made to cry when they don’t IRL and it makes me roll my eyes. Though if something so awful happens it makes someone who doesn’t normally cry cry (eg losing the WDC at the final corner ETC ETC), that’s a devastating blow and A+.

Do you like PWPs?

Yes, between established couples. Otherwise they’re a bit hollow.

Any kinks that you don’t want to try in real life (but are still hot in a fanfic)?

Pretty much everything lol. If anyone tried to do most of the things I enjoy in fic with me IRL, I’d laugh or cringe so hard it’d be mortifying for all concerned.

I can’t be expected to answer this! Though my current fave is probably still that Queen fic I read the other week. Magnificent writing.

Yes, especially uni AUs. I know some people frown on it, but I’m partial to a bit of lecturer/student >.>
